Aquila - Aquila. CD. (Green Tree - TRC 46)

Superb jazzy prog-rock from UK five piece Aquila originally released in 1970. Featuring woodwinds and reeds as well as the usual guitar/ bass/ hammond/ drums, this feels at times like Caravan/Soft Machine with a driving feel that recalls Affinity or Fuzzy Duck. Produced by Patrick Campbell-Lyons

Baltik - Baltik. CD.

At last a re-issue of this 1973 album originally released on CBS.This Norwegian progressive album had bass virtuoso from,John Gustafson (Roxy Music, Quatermass, Ian Gillan Band, Hard Stuff) is now one of the ultimate collectors items for most Deep Purple, Atomic Rooster fans. It starts off quite heavy, then the pace is slowed down with a female vocal/gospel-flavoured ballad , which sets the mood for a few tracks then the disc reverts to quirky, interesting prog rock, which takes a little bit of getting used to - especially if it doesn't grab you from the first listen; give it another chance.

Bent Wind - Sussex. CD. (Green Tree - GTR100)

Finally here is a decent edition of the monster Canadian heavy psych ultra rarity from 1969. It's a volcanic dose of intense fuzz guitar and the perfect compliment to the band's sloppy garage ambience and chugging beat. A strange case indeed as the music on Sussex is often overshadowed by the fact that the album is one of the rarest of '60's psychedelic albums. A pity as the music is as psychedelic as they come - a veritable fuzz guitar inferno! CD is housed in a digi pak and includes 5 bonus tracks plus the original artwork.

Birth Control - Backdoor Possibilities ...plus. CD. (Green Tree - GTR 041)

Arguably the German bands' creative masterpiece, this concept album first saw the light of day in 1976. Full of multi tracked vocal harmonies and progressive synthesizer work with all the usual forays into jazz and classical thematics, this is German Art Rock at its best. This release also contains 2 extra tracks.

Ginhouse - Ginhouse. CD. (Green Tree - GTR12)

Debut and sole album from this Newcastle hard blues rock trio. Orginally released in 1971 this album has become a real rarity and collector's item. The album is a solid blues rock album with the one particular stand-out being the continuous track "The House/Sun In A Bottle". A nice reissue from Green Tree which we are most glad exists and this music has not been left to become increasingly obscure.

Hannibal - Hannibal. CD. (Green Tree - GTR 17)

Legendary, rare UK psychedelic rock album from the early 70's. Once Clem Clemson left Bakerloo the group stuck together and changed their name to Hannibal and this is their incredibly rare album, and shoot me down with a water pistol if it ain't chock full of horn led progressive, psychedelic rock. It reminds this freak a little of "If" or the "Web" album, and it's just as good. Reissue taken from the original masters, now that's a rarity!!

Smoking guitar playing accompanies some great hard rock on this 1971 album from the Miami hard psych group. Jerry Goodman guests on violin on one track and the front cover is worth the price of admission alone; mini construction worker taking his drill to someone's teeth anyone?!

Siren - Siren. CD. (Green Tree - GTR013)

Recorded in 1969 this is Siren's debut album which features the excellent vocal talents of Kevin Coyne (once offered the position of the Doors frontman) This really is an excellent British rock album with a cynical touch, given by Coyne's excellent lyrics. Ecstatically received by Rolling Stone and International Times, and with encouragement from John Peel, Jac Holzman (who released the album on the Elektra label in the USA) took them stateside with their unique British sound. Recommended.
