Colin Blunstone possesses one of the most distinctive voices in U.K. pop history. From his early days as the front man with the Zombies, Colin has enjoyed a string of top ten hits all across Europe. This compilation features re-recordings of ten of his hits as a solo artist and with the Zombies. When re-recording the songs Colin recruited original personnel with the likes of Rod Argent, Chris White and Jim Rodford. What makes this compilation totally unique is the fact that it also features two songs originally recorded as part of the Greatest Hits sessions but left off the original album because it was decided to present the release as a hits package only. Not only that but this CD features two excellent brand new recordings featuring the piano/voice of Blunstone and Argent.

Family were one of the best loved and most successful rock bands to emerge from the late sixties/early seventies. Fronted by Roger Chapman, one of the greatest and most distinctive vocalists of his generation, Family enjoyed four hit singles and six hit albums in the U.K. alone. Old Songs, New Songs was recorded at the end of the sixties. Family had to that time released two successful albums but had recently split with their management company. The band decided that they would go into the studio and rerecord and remix some of their earlier tunes to the style that the band felt suited them better than the original recordings whilst also putting down some new songs hence Old Songs, New Songs. It remains a big favourite with Family fans, not least for its wonderful version of the classic Weavers Answer and the hit single No Mule’s Fool/Good Friend Of Mine.

Formerly BB King's musical director and bassist for eight years, now the leader of the renowned 'Memphis Blues Caravan' which does exactly what it says on the tin!! On this new CD he his the sole composer (unusual for a bluesman) and contributes some lead vocals as well as being joined by the rather ace Ladonna Smith- the other musicians present are the French bluesmen he spent many years jamming with, hence the title 'My French Connection'. However, there is just as much influence here from his own life in the state of Mississippi- making this as vital an example of 21st century Southern blues as any.

Roger Chapman is the singer best-known in Britain for his work with Family and the 70s r'n'b band Streetwalkers. In the pre-punk era, Roger was an enormous cult figure on the British rock scene, famed for his spectacular showmanship and soaring vibrato. John Peel, the evergreen Radio 1 DJ, vowed that he'd travel colossal distances to catch a Chapman gig. But in the days when 60s musicians were being indiscriminately pensioned off in this country, upstaged by the Sex Pistols and New Wave Music, Roger poured his energies into performing abroad and thus becoming a rock exile. Through talent and resilience, he rebuilt his career in Germany during the 1980s, packing out venues, promoting a spate of successful albums and enjoying a huge European hit with his impassioned rendition of Mike Oldfield's 'Shadow on the Wall'. ‘One More Time For Peace’ is the first Chapman release since 2001’s live album ‘Rollin’ & Tumblin’.Housed in a mini card gatefold sleeve.

Volume 4 of the Loft Tapes was recorded in Hamburg, at the famous Onkel Po’s venue on 5th March 1982 (The Unca Po of the title was how the band referred to the club). Roger and some friends had recently recorded two studio albums comprising recordings of all of their favourite songs. The project was a bit of fun and never intended as a live vehicle. Since the Riffburglar recordings had been financed by a German label they asked Roger and the band to play a couple of live promotional dates. This recording is one of those unique shows - an all-star band firing on all cylinders.

The show was to preview the forthcoming solo album release of "Kiss My Soul" and was played to an audience of journalists, distributors and invited fans from the Roger Chapman fan club. The show was in a format that Roger had never tried before and featured a stripped down "Shortlist" with album producer Deiter Falk on keyboards.The quality of this extraordinary performance was reflected in the rave reviews the new album received upon its release. The songs on this CD have never been heard since in this format or with these arrangements and it's a "must have" for any Chappo fan.
In the early Seventies with the British Blues scene a little stale, Stan Webb took time out from his band Chicken Shack to form a brilliant band entitled Broken Glass featuring such great players as Miller Anderson, Robbie Blunt, Mac Poole and Rob Rawlinson. The three pronged guitar attack of Webb, Anderson and Blunt soon had venues rocking and EMI put the money up for the bands debut album.The album hit the streets to great reviews and Broken Glass seemed on their way to fame and fortune the quality of the Webb, Anderson, Bunt compositions was exceptional but as often beset bands in the Seventies problems with management ensued and the project collapsed. The legacy of Broken Glass is one great album available here for the first time on CD.
