The constant evolution of Kraut/Psyche kingsCircle contiues with this 2006 four track EP (20 minutes playing time). Now including more and more elements of prime quality psychedelic metal into the mix, this is a dense merge of intense rhythm and guitar riffs that cut the skin. Features guest singer Bruce Duff (from LA band Jesters Of Destiny) on three of the tracks.
Finnish masters of hypnotic and trance-like KRAUT/SPACEROCK. Hypnotising repitative riffs running through whilst the familiar Circle layered sound are added to the tracks, like violin, eerie keyboards and strong guitar-riff layering. For anyone into Hawkwind, Can etc. and mesmerizingly repetative. Bashing guitar, occasional downright scary vocals and fantastic late 60's/early 70's organ sounds. Their music is energetic, well crafted and always exciting.
The premier kraut-influenced, psychedelic band have created their most dark and twisted record to date - which, for those familiar with Circle, know is no small feat. The constants of their sound remain - hard repetition, heavy riffs, trance inducing rhythms - aided, on this recording, by an ominous, spooky and, dare we say, straight up evil vibe. You could very well be listening to the greatest, long lost dark psychedelia record, or maybe the soundtrack to some never released drug-drenched horror film.

2002 album from Finnish rockers Circle. A great blend of heavy psychedelic riffing a la Monster Magnet with progressive and Kraut stylings. They've been together for more than ten years now but are still as psychedelic as ever! . Eight tracks clocking in at sixty three minutes. This album is killer!
Seattle band Earth have a had a less than luxorious career consisting of substance addictions, catastrophic live performances and angry record labels. Yet through the tumultuous haze they have released a number of highly regarded studio albums in the early to mid 90's. Often attributed to helping sculpt the ever so popular Doom/Drone/Stoner Metal genres, Earth's influence was far more wide-reaching as evidenced by this varied collection of remixes entitled "Legacy of Dissolution" - a fitting title for a band whose existence was corrosive from the start. Only lasting member Dylan Carlson helped compile the list of remixers, each of whom chose their favorite track from the Earth back catalog.
In the similar vein as Nirvana, Mudhoney and the Melvins, Earth had the same feedback and grunge guitars for this '95 release. Their forte however was layered droning Heavy Metal riffs. Barely ever touring and eventually splitting up has made them a cult favourite, this particular album was only ever extremely limited in it's release (500) and makes a welcome return. Made up of a extremely long live jam and four great Nirvana influenced originals with guitars that cut through everything in its path. Original five track album expanded with four never before heard tracks from the same sessions.
The complete recordings of this short lived group that seemed to dabble in most genres (Kraut/Prog/Noise/Drone/Heavy Rock/even a bit of jazz) and combine them to dazzling effect. Their back catalogue was threatening to become a bit of an obscurity until this release. Post rock, explosive rhythms, extremely precise playing and crushing drones brought together in this double CD. Includes the never see short biographical film "As If By Remote"
Finnish based stoner (ish) rock band's second album. This group specialises in minimalistic, repetitive grooves that are clearly influenced by '70's hard rock with elements of pschedelia. Often threatening to explode into noise (but rarely actually doing it), this group are similar to an ominous storm cloud slowly rolling over your family picnic, it's momentarily peaceful but something nasty could happen at any second. Their jamscapes are built around heavy rhythms, these six tracks are epic and calming/disturbing at the same time.
Debut album (2006) by the N.Y.C. heavy psyche rock power trio, recorded after touring with Acid Mothers Temple. An absolute torrent of drums back the looped guitar lines that sliver throughout the record. A proper Wall Of Sound effect that at times can blow you away with it's tidal wave/juggernaught method of audio attack. Gamelan is powerfully masculine (not macho) rock that handily beats Comets on Fire at their own incendiary game, just check out the 10 minute opening cut.
Apologising for the speaker damage their debut album caused, this is not the follow up album but a collection of pre album demos that effectively tell the evolvement of the bands sound without the need for a 10,000 word essay in the CD booklet. Susprisingly it is quite quiet in bits, electro songs with pulsing guitar and feedback loops that hint at the varied future sound of this exciting group.
