Backed by Link Ray and The Ray Men, the R&B shouter delivers some essential rock n roll from 1962. The former Boxer had been singing Gospel in the '50's before joining forces with Link Ray. For a few precious years in the early '60's they recorded some crazy rhythm and blues numbers. This is one of them. Enjoy.
The latest in Norton's ongoing Rolling Stones cover series features Detroit soul stormers the Dirtboms pummeling 'No Expectations,' (it morphs into "Hey Jude" as well!) while West Coast whompers The Love Supremes turn in a romping version of 'Sing This All Together.' Very limited edition indeed.
With only 100 copies pressed of this '70's Garage rock 7" ever made before this re-release, it is clear to say that this is a rare one. These two get lost anthems by a butch of snotty New Jersey teens are cracking.
Excellent collection of unissued live, demo and outake recordings by this '60's San Francisco garage/power pop band including a wild version of "I Can't Explain" and the tracks from the unissued "Sideshow" Soundtrack which were never released. This is the band that invented power pop (discuss)

Moreover, the performance by Loney, Jordan, and company. The set is rounded out by "I'm a Man" and "Headin' for the Texas Border" from a Matrix show from a year earlier. Prepare yourself for one of the wildest rides in musical history. Madman? Prophet? Genius? Let's just call him Hazel. Utterly surreal one-man band Hasil Adkins has been infiltrating the world of music with his own particular rockabilly virus since the fifties and he's finally seeing some recognition for being so far beyond the Sun (studios that is) that he's on his way back again. Punk before there was punk, psychobilly when psycho billy was still just a mate of crazy ted, Hasil is an uncelebrated pioneer. Those familiar with Mr. Adkins will already be savy with his mix of fake dance crazes (here represented by the irresistable "Chicken Flop" and "Do the Scalp") and spine-chilling (and frankly psychopathic) lyrical excursions. This is the genuine article, a bonafide one-wildman band. Originally released in 1986 this is Hasil at his best. Howl Hasil Howl!

Sole 7" by the '60's US girl garage band featuring a young Suzi Quatro. Housed in a sleeve picturing the girls looking as cute and groovy as you'd expect, the two tracks enclosed are killer '60's garage with some great lyrics. "You got the kind of body, that makes me come alive but I'd rather have my hands around a bottle of Colt 45". Quite.
Brand new non LP single all about smoking dope! Features the bands local school, which caused a bit a fuss in the UK National papers. Great picture cover.

Beautiful vinyl reissue of this LP originally released in 1965. A classic UK album that showcases the onset of the Pretty Things freakbeat Sound - a mixture of punk, R'n' B and proto psych. The hair's already getting longer so you can tell the sound is getting wilder. Comes in a gatefold sleeve.
US compilation of early tracks from the UK combo who mixed freaked up blues with frenzied beat pop in their early career. This album contains the songs "Big Boss Man," "£SD," "Midnight To Six Man" and other early stompers. Cool stuff in a gatefold sleeve
Great collection of live material from 1976-78 including a live radio broadcast and tracks which first appeared on the "Live at the Rat" compilation. the late '70s through the early '80s, the Real Kids were Boston's original rock & roll slop band. Fronted by John Felice, main songwriter and guiding spirit, the Real Kids ran on equal parts adolescent rivalry, drugs and as much beer as they could consume. When Felice wanted to tear up a club with his rockin' originals or his favorite rock & roll tunes (equally adept at both), the Kids could be a thing of raw beauty to watch and hear.
There's plenty of great stuff here by the late, lamented Real Kids, one of Boston's best rock bands. Gems abound on this CD are tracks from 1982's "Outta Place" LP,and 1981 "Taxi Boys" Mini LP.Kick arse power pop/punk collection:
Excellent and about time re-issue of this Boston-based punk-rock bands debut album from 1977(originally released on Red Star Records)They were led by guitarist/vocalist/songwriter John Felice. Capable of writing great, catchy pop-rock material, Felice and Real Kids opted for sloppy, beer and drug-induced "who cares" punk attitude, making them darlings of local CBGB's-styled scene Storming stuff.

Legendary US loner Stud Cole's first and last recordings are coupled on this wild 45. The first, "The Witch", is an (until now) unreleased demo from 1964. The second, "Burn Baby Burn", was a single from 1968. Both tracks are wild, unhinged rockers (think Johnny Kidd meets Jack Starr with the 66 Yardbirds backing). On Norton Records with picture sleeve.
