Annie Haslam - It Snows In Heaven Too. CD. Anthony Phillips - Sixty Minutes With.... CD. (Voiceprint - VP6005CD) Sixty Minutes With includes a number of tracks from Anthony Phillips' albums of the '70's. Also included is a demo of a rather important song entitled Silver Song. This particular song has a strong Genesis link as it was written about Jonathan Silver who was one of the early drummers before the arrival of Jonathan Mayhew and subsequently Phil Collins. In fact the song was actually prepared for release as a single in 1974 but for some reason dropped. The final track featured here, White Spider comes from Ant's most recent studio album Field day.

The album ‘Go Between’ was originally released in 1986 but has been unavailable since 1992.The New Percussion Group of Amsterdam was founded in 1980 by two solo percussionists of the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Symphony Orchestra, Jan Pustjens and Niels Le Large, specifically to bring new and adventurous percussion works to a young and modern audience. This re-mastered edition of Go Between comprises four long tracks of material written specifically for the project and its two stellar-featured artists.Bill Bruford has been in the top echelon of percussionists for almost forty years. Through bands like Yes, King Crimson and Genesis to countless sessions and also leading a number of his own groups. Bill has enjoyed success within a number of different musical fields including rock and jazz. Bonzo Dog Band - Anthropology. CD. (Voiceprint - DJC008) This compilation from rehearsals, demos and work in progress traces the development of The Bonzo Dog Band from 1967 through 1968. During the recording of "GORILLA" in 1967, 'Legs' Larry Smith replaced Sam Spoons and Dave Clague took over from Vernon to be replaced in 1968 part way through "THE DOUGHNUT IN GRANNY'S GREENHOUSE" by Joel Druckman and then Dennis Cowan. There were musical changes too. From the first jazz-influenced album to electric guitars and "THE DOUGHNUT" was a hectic, inventive, evolution up against a background of rehearsal, recording, touring interviews and radio and TV appearances.

Brian Hopper - If Ever I Am. CD. (Voiceprint - VP388CD) Brand new album from this integral participant in the enormously successful and creative Canterbury Scene. Honing his skills initially as a member of the legendary Wilde Flowers and then later as a part time participant in Soft Machine, Robert Wyatt wanted Brian as a full time member but he chose to progress his first love as an agricultural researcher. Well he's back and he's brought some friends, this new album features performances from Hugh Hopper, Robert Wyatt (two members of the original Wilde Flowers), Francis Knight and the great Robert Fenner on guitar. The three other members are Ray Phillips, of the Nashville Teens fame, on lead vocals, and two ex-members of the Downliners Sect: rhythm guitarist Don Craine and bassist Keith Grand. The CD boasts several guest musicians who also have strong '60s credentials, including the late Noel Redding and two members of the Pretty Things: Dick Taylor and Phil May. For lovers of high energy rock played with attitude and verve as would be expected by the calibre of musicians found here.

'Daydreams and Danger' features members of the Zappatistas and is a live set with a largely electronic backing, sometimes bordering on cabaret but never tacky. 'Why Don't They Dance' features In Cahoots trumpeter Jim Dvorak and is ballsy, brassy big band blues, like Savoy Brown circa 'Train To Nowhere' or Dana Gillespie's later work. Value for money if the blooooooze is yer bag.

Chain/Shy - Eros Of Love And Destruction/Welcome To The Madhouse. CD. (Voiceprint - NR241016CD) Two for one set featuring some of the best of British AOR by two related acts; Chain, featuring former Rainbow/Midnight Blue vocalist Doogie White, was recorded before his joining the former band in 1993, and are, as one would expect, somewhat Blackmore/Dio influenced: Shy, on the other hand, were one of Birmingham (UK)'s premier melodic hard rock acts in the late 80s and would have been poised to achieve the profile of US bands like Dokken or Great White until the dreaded rise of Rap Metal and Grunge wrote 'poodle rock' as it was disparagingly called, out of history. Now here's a chance to hear again what AORsters were so excited about for all of five minutes in 1987. Packaging features reproductions of original booklets of both albums. Daevid Allen - Gentle Genie. CD. (Voiceprint - VP336CD) Fully remastered, this is a fine collection of acoustic numbers, from between 1985 and 2000, that have been, in the words of Daevid himself, "Rewoven to soothe and enliven the weary brow."

Daevid Allen - Self-Initiation Themes. CD. (Voiceprint - BMOVP003CD) From the Bananamoon Obscura Collection, this four-track CD was recorded in Mullumbimby, Australia, and intended as a meditation/healing soundtrack. It has actually been used for such purposes in the Glastonbury Healing Fields with great success.

Daevid Allen - Sixty Minutes With…. CD. (Voiceprint - VP6018CD) Sixty minutes With Daevid Allen features some of Daevid Allen’s more diverse solo work and showcases the real breadth of not only Daevid Allen’s talent as a solo artist but also features some of Daevid’s collaborations with like minded musicians and artists whose imagination knows no bounds. Some of the music contained on this compilation draws from the Bananamoon Obscura series of recordings which were sourced from Daevid’s own tape archive and tracks recorded as Brainville. All of these recordings show the diversity and artistry of a man who is always on the move looking for the next musical road to travel down. Daevid Allen & Mother Gong - Owl & The Tree. CD. (Voiceprint - VP278CD) Recorded in Australia in 1988/9, the Gong founder combines with long term collaborator Gilli Smyth, Henry Williamson and Robert Calvert amongst others in a suitably typical celebration of the forces of Mother Nature. Oh, and smoking dope! (Probably!). Reissued and remastered.

Dave Brock - Memos And Demos. CD. (Voiceprint - HAWKVP20CD) Solo recordings of material intended for Hawkwind that were recorded in Dave Brock's home studio sometime in the late '90s (precise dates are not given). They must be approached as Brock's experiments, and although they are fully developed ideas,they are certainly not half-cooked tracks. If you liked The Church Of Hawkwind album this is similar containing a varied selection of trippy introverted recordings and still very much in the Hawkwind style.

Didier Malherbe - Bloom. CD. (Voiceprint - VP218CD) First time on CD for this late Seventies Gong offshoot band. Formed in Paris by saxophonist Malherbe, this continues in a jazzy progressive vein and will appeal to Gong fans and followers of the Canterbury Scene.

Eddie & The Hot Rods - Been There, Done That. CD. (Voiceprint - VP399CD) Been There, Done That could well be the phrase that sums up Eddie and the Hot Rods, still led from the front by Barry Masters. The band decided that it was time to record a new album that mixed a select number of covers including Born To Be Wild and Belgian Tom’s Hat Trick alongside original material and in early 2006 busied themselves in the studio writing and recording this album. Containing fourteen tracks of high octane rock n roll, Been There, Done That has turned out to be one of the band's best albums to date and certainly one that stands proud amongst the bands popular back catalogue.

Eddie & The Hot Rods - Better Late Than Never. CD. (Voiceprint - VP370CD) 2005 release from this well-loved Saarfend pub/punk rock ensemble, famous to most for their classic single 'Do Anything You Wanna Do' and its parent album 'Life On The Line'. Still led in the 00s by lead vocalist Barrie Masters, this album showcased their stonking R'n'B sound at its full throttle and celebrates their 30th anniversary. Also includes two bonus tracks recorded live in 2001, including a cover of Sam Sham's 'Woolly Bully'.

Elton Dean, Alan Skidmore, Chris Laurence, John Marshall - El Skid. CD. (Voiceprint - VP230CD) Jazz album by this Soft Machine related quartet dating from 1977. Cool funky acoustic bass, sax, and percussion improvisation.

Equipe Out - Up!. CD. (Voiceprint - VP348CD) Equipe Out was the band that drummer Pip Pyle (ex Gong/Hatfield and the North/National Health) formed with Sophia Domanchich and also former Soft machine members Elton Dean and Hugh Hopper. Up! Was the band's second album originally released in 1991. Containing the sly sense of humour that Canterbury ensembles have always been able to maintain this album, unavailable for many years, has also been remastered.

Mucho jamming, improv and widdly is the order of the day (well, it is a prog album!), but remastered to a sound quality as good as nay studio recording. Giles,Giles & Fripp - Brondesbury Tapes (1968). CD. (Voiceprint - VP235CD) The CD version (with bonus tracks) of the now deleted vinyl Metamorphosis release on Voiceprint. A whole album of material by this band who featured Robert Fripp and later other pre-King Crimson band members. GG & F made an album for Decca that was very much in the quirky brit psych pop mould of the day. These 1968 demo's and home recordings capture the band as they move from that psych/pop era and mutate into the legendary King Crimson.

Gilli Smyth & Daevid Allen - Short Tales And Tall Stories. CD. (Voiceprint - VP368CD) 2005 release from the 'grandparents' (no longer a euphemism!) of British/Australian freak psych space rock, both founders of the beloved Gong. One might be surprised to hear that with this album they have turned their talents toward children's stories and spoken word with ambient backing: not that they haven't dabbled in it before with 'Mother' 'Fairy Tales' and of course the various songs and stories of Zero The Hero. However, when one reads that titles include 'You Are A Bum' 'The Fable Of A Fredfish Overheard' and 'The Curious Story Of What Happened To Mr Camembert When He Visited His Son In A Doggerel' one knows exactly what kind of stories Daevid and Gilli will be telling their children (who appear on the record with THEIR children) and one realises not much has changed. Apparently, Mr Ashcroft, the drugs DID work after all!! Released in stylish digipak format.

Gong - Montserrat 1973 And Other Stories. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD 25) Thrilling live DVD featuring Gong's performance at the Spanish Church and a 1967 Soft Machine (featuring Daevid) benefit gig for John 'Hoppy' Hopkins recorded at the UFO club. This rare colour footage, organised after their activist friend was arrested on trumped up charges is a real treat, attacking the hypocrisy of the establishment. Also featured is the 2002 Acid Mothers Gong concert that featured the marriage of Cotton Casino and Billawtm half way through and finally, some footage of Daevid reciting poetry from 2006. Holocaust - Primal/ Live: Hot Curry And Wine. CD. (Voiceprint - NR241017CD) Two albums on one CD- from one of the great underground names of the NWOBHM, or 'Nobwob' as we now call it (Do we?- Ed). Scotland's Holocaust have been around since 1979 and whilst they never achieved the success of their contemporaries such as Maiden, Leppard, Priest, Magnum, Girlschool etc, they were influential in the extreme- not just on other underground acts but on established bands as far apart sonically as Metallica ('Small Hours') and the Meat Puppets ('Heavy Metal Mania') and others inbetween, all of whom have covered some of the songs heard here. 'Hot Curry And Wine' is a simply INCENDIARY live recording from 1981, now with the tracks that made up their 'Raw And Live' as a bonus. 'Primal' was their ninth studio album and their first of the 21st century, and as such sees the band taking influence from those they influenced themselves.

Hugh Hopper - Improvisation/Mind In The Trees. CD. Huw Lloyd-Langton - Night Air/Time, Space And LLG. CD. Fast, complex instrumentals with the man himself covering all lead guitar and lead vocals (John Clark and Kenny Wilson take care of rhythm section duties). A must for Hawkwind fans..

Ian Wallace - Fission Trip. CD. (Voiceprint - VP369CD) Latest album from highly respected leftfield UK rock drummer, best known for his work with King Crimson/ 21st Century Schizoid Band, but whose resume also takes in The Warriors (with Jon Anderson) Snape (with Alexis Korner) Don Henley, David Lindley, Bonnie Raitt, Bob Dylan (Wally is the drummer on the infamous 'Live At Budokan' set), and the Quireboys. The music here is mainly the result of a collaboration with guitar genius/ vocalist extraordinaire Adrian Belew, also of Crimson and also late of Talking Heads, The Bears and the Mothers, so one knows what to expect- easy listeing it ain't.

Ian Wallace - Happiness (With Minimal Side Effects). CD. (Voiceprint - VP367CD) 2005-released solo album from highly versatile Brit drummer, most famous as member of King Crimson ('Islands ' and 'Earthbound') and its later offshoot the 21st Century Schizoid Band. Also a member of Alexis Korner's Snape, and believe it or not, the Quireboys!! (he played drums on their 1990 debut but one can't see him slipping into the eyeliner and pinstripes) Featuring Crimson/Foreigner founder Ian McDonald and acae axeman Clive Gregson, so expect the usual blend of eccentricity and widdly.

Intergalatic Touring Band - Intergalatic Touring Band. CD. (Voiceprint - VP251CD) First released in 1977 this is a sci-fi prog rock concept album. Guest appearances from Dave Cousins, Meatloaf, Rod Argent, Arthur Brown, Francis Rossi, and Ben E King. Long deleted and a collectors item this is a first time on CD with remastered sound.

Jack Monck - Inside The Whale. CD. (Voiceprint - VP241CD) 1980s album from Jack Monck who played with Syd Barrett and Twink in The Stars as well as Delivery with Pip Pyle (who plays on this album). "Inside The Whale" started as a collection of songs demoed in early 1983 and inspired by a collection of George Orwell essays. The album has never been released until now and will appeal to fans of Gong, Pink Floyd, Hatfield & The North, National Health, etc.

Jan Akkerman - A Touch Of Class. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD 17) This DVD production not only features highlights of performances but also Jan in conversation discussing his music that he had candidly describes as adapted from the best of baroque and black music. There is also footage of Jan playing the lute so as to illuminate the breadth of a talent still held out as one of the worlds finest. Somewhat understandably included within the film is the reference point of BBC's Old Grey Whistle Test footage of Akkerman playing "Sylvia" and "Hocus Pocus" with Focus in 1973. Also included as a bonus feature is a performance from Dutch television some 18 months later to show Akkerman masterfully revisiting the tunes "Pietons" and "Just Because" on an updated version of the then new midi synth guitar an instrument few had dared to play and even fewer had mastered. This DVD will certainly be a must for long time fans of Jan Akkerman and also fans of fine guitar music.

John Martyn - Apprentice. CD. (Voiceprint - OW130CD) Not the soundtrack to the popular BBC 2 program but a re-release of his 1990 album. Actually recorded in 1988. This was the studio follow up to the 1986 album Piece By Piece. The album is considered to be one of the best from this particular period of John’s lengthy career. This re mastered edition now includes bonus tracks comprising contemporary singles and B sides: Deny This Love (remix), "The Apprentice (live)", "The River (live)", "Send Me One Line (live)", "Look at the Girl (live)."

Magic Mushroom Band - Live '89. CD. (Voiceprint - VP360CD) Wonderful archive recording from the UK's second wave of psychedelia recorded in 1989 at The Nags Head in High Wycombe. The Magic Mushroom band along with Ozric Tentacles were starting to break to a wider audience as the UK rave/dance explosion began to blend with the Free Festival circuit. The MMB first came together in 1982 on the back of the booming Free Festival scene when they began playing their own particular brand of space rock, later evolving it into a unique 'Psychedelic Space Pop' style. This live recording features an acoustic and electric set that includes the bands later recordings as well as covers of songs by Kevin Ayers, Frank Zappa and Jimi Hendrix. Joie Hinton of the Ozric Tentacles makes a guest appearance on synths during the opening electric jam. The booklet features period photos and flyers. Can it really be nearly 20 years ago ?!

It was recorded just before Process Of Illumination and just after Eyes Of The Angel in 1986 and captures the days of The Clarendon Hotel when Psychedlia and Psychobilly would often occupy the same stage at the legendary London venue. Recorded by most of the Magic Mushroom band with members of legendary UK psychobilly band The Frantic Flintstones this is a wild rock and roll ride! The album features a selection of psyched out, bastardized rock'n'roll covers and original songs loaded with drug references (Human Bong, Snortin' Billy, etc) with Deviants/Downliners Sect and more traditional Rock and Roll/Hill Billy vibes. Never released at the time this is the rather bizarre missing link betwixt the MMB's two classic albums and a memory of an era and venue now sadly gone. Features bonus tracks and remixes.

Man - Live At The Rex. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD8) A historically significant chapter in the story of this great Welsh aggregation, as this was the last tour on which Deke Leonard played with the band before retiring to write books. The Man band's turbulent history has seen members come and go what seemed practically like every five minutes: these days only Mickey Jones and Martin Ace remain from the original lineup, but the band have not one iota of their love of playing diminished. This is actually the first DVD the band have released, and a such it's ironic that it should describe such a poignant occasion in the band's career- but rather than looking downhearted, they tear through 'Daughter Of The Fireplace' 'Spunk Rock' 'Romain' and 'Stuck Behind The Popemobile' with the fire of a man (or indeed a Man Band) posessed. Man - Live At The Roundhouse. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD 36) Live performance filmed at the Roundhouse in 1976, this DVD features highlights from their three day tenure plus interviews with the band, their manager and even the hard working put upon road crew. The band are in top form but lets face it when were they not in top form? In addition to the informative and hugely enlightening interviews the band perform some classic Man material including: "Born With A Future", "Bananas" and "Babe Im Gonna Leave You." This fascinating documentary has rarely been seen since the original film was broadcast in the late seventies and as such will be highly anticipated by the large and devoted fan base still commanded by Man and as such gives a great insight into what the band were all about during their seventies heyday. Man - Live In Cologne, Germany 17/04/1975. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD 35) When this live in the studio performance was taped for German television Martin Ace had only been back in the band for just over two weeks. His recall to the ranks of Man was due to the sudden departure of the previous bassist in Man Ken Whaley. This line up of Man however was only ever considered a temporary solution to the bands problems and following a tour and the subsequent live album entitled Maximum Darkness, Martin Ace headed off once more to pastures new . The set included the long time Man staples "Cmon", "Many Are Called But Few Get Up" and "Romain" alongside some newer material such as "Hard Way To Die" from the bands most recent album Slow Motion and "Someone Is Calling" which had surfaced during the sessions for Slow Motion but unfortunately due to the restrictions of vinyl was omitted from the final running order. Region: 0, Ratio: 4:3, Sound: Stereo.

Michael Chapman - Americana I & II. CD. (Voiceprint - VPCD 391) A collection of the 2001, 2002 albums by Micheal Chapman, a lover of Southern, Americana and western music. Demonstrating that his soundtrack work is not the only string in his bow, his great acoustic guitar picking is a real highlight, criminally underrated as a musician, he has the ability to give these multi layered instrumentals a real complex, emotive feel. Occasionally you feel he could be wandering off course until he pulls it back from the brink on his seven minute epic multi instrumental noodles. This is a player who has the believe and the skill to pull this sort of thing off with panache. Fans of Ry Cooder might be dissapointed (or pleastantly surprised) to find that while he is compared to them, he is in fact better than them on a number of fronts. Tracks include "Ponchatoulah", "A Strangers Map Of Texas", "Looking For Charlie In Nogales" and "Thunderbird Lodgings."

Michael Moorcock & The Deep Fix - Roller Coaster Holiday. CD. (Voiceprint - VP351CD) An occasional performer with Hawkwind (but a full-time member of the group's sci-fi vision) the author Michael Moorcock would join Hawkwind when Bob Calvert was unable to perform and wrote lyrics for them on a few occasions. This album features Moorcock with Hawkwind members (including Dave Brock, Nick Turner, Allan Powell, Simon King, Terry Ollis and Simon House) and is a selection of alternative takes/mixes and acoustic versions from the 1975 "New World's Fair" album . This is all previously unreleased material!! The tracks have been re-mastered and with three bonus tracks and a 16 page booklet written by John Davey this is one that should not be allowed to escape!

Morgan Fisher - Seasons/Look At Life. Dble CD. (Voiceprint - VP290CD) Probably best known as the keyboard player from Mott the Hoople, Morgan Fisher came out with these two albums after he left the band and decided to explore world music. The 'Look At Life' album, for example, was the result of a trip to Japan, where Fisher fell in love with the country. Two excellent albums, now available together.

Mother Gong - 2006. CD. (Voiceprint - VP404CD) Gilli Smyth and Daevid Allen left Gong in 1974 and moved to Spain and spent their time writing material that would find its way onto her debut solo album Mother in 1978. It is with this album the story of Mother Gong begins. Recorded spontaneously at the Gong Uncon in Glastonbury in 2005, this latest album consists of live tracks recorded at the Uncon meeting and also two new studio tracks recorded by Gilli in 2006 during the mixing of the album. Interest in Mother Gong and the extended Gong family has never been higher and the album will be released in time for the forthcoming Gong Convention to be held in Amsterdam in November 2006.

Features versions of the lineup's best known tune 'Robot Woman' (Parts 1 and 2). Remastered with deluxe artwork- a must for pot head pixies and radio gnomes everywhere.

Mother Gong - Live In Amsterdam. CD. (Voiceprint - VP423CD) Live show from this prolific offshoot of Gong featuring Gilli Smyth and various classic Gong members. The performance took place at the spectacularly successful Gong INCON which took place in November 2006 and reprised the successful appearance of Mother Gong at the same venue a year earlier. The band featured Gilli Smyth, Orlando Allen, Didier Malherbe, Gwyo Zepix and Tim Hall.

Mountain - Live Fillmore East NY 1970. CD. (Voiceprint - VPTMQ014CD) Direct from Leslie West and Corky Lang's private tape collection comes this recording of Mountain Live at the Fillmore East in December of 1970. Filled with tracks from Nantucket Sleighride (which was a month from release) the recording features the earliest live performance of that albums title track as well as "Mississippi Queen" and "Never In My Life" from Leslie West's first album and Mountain classics like "Never in my Life",Theme for an Imaginary Western"a couple of obscure live cuts "Dirty Shoes" & "Travellin' in the Dark and more.This is a great set.

Mountain - Live In Texas. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD14) Captured during the bands 2005 world tour where Leslie West and Corky Laing are joined by Richie Scarlet. Includes material from the key stages of the band's development including a section of the show where the band pay a homage to Cream by playing "Sunshine of Your Love","Politician" and "Crossroads". Also included are storming versions of "Blood of the Sun","Never in my Life","Mississippi Queen","Nantucket Sleighride" and more.16 tracks in total.NTSC Region 0 disc.

Mountain - Live In Texas 2005. CD. (Voiceprint - VP402CD) This live CD was captured during the band's world tour in early 2005 and more than thirty five years into their career, Mountain show no sign of slowing down. The core duo of Leslie West and Corky Laing, are joined on this occasion by bassist Ritchie Scarlet, and, as befits a band of the stature of Mountain the performance captured here spans the band's career and includes material from most of the key stages in their development. The obvious Mountain calling cards are all in attendance including Theme For An Imaginary Western, Mississippi Queen and Never In My Life. There is also a tribute to Cream and a nod to Leslie West and Corky Laing's time working with Jack Bruce with the Cream song Politician that was a highlight of West Bruce and Laing's live concerts.

Muffin Men - Bakers Dozen. CD. (Voiceprint - MMCD13/2) The Muffin Men were born out of a desire, by founder member Rod Gilliard, to adapt the music of Frank Zappa on stage and make it their own. They have even played with members of the original Mothers Of Invention. This CD captures a series of live performances as the Muffin Men jam with old Zappa cohorts, such as Ike Willis.

National Health - Missing Pieces. CD. (Voiceprint - VPCD113) This album consists of a number of compositions which failed to make it onto either of National Health's albums - hence its title, Missing Pieces. This collection of sought after recordings has, wherever possible, been remastered from first generation master tapes. The lavish sixteen page booklet includes extensive notes and a track-by-track analysis from Dave Stewart.

Nektar - Man In The Moon. CD. (Voiceprint - VP259CD) The final album for the legendary British/German band from '80 saw them adopt a more commercial style. Still rock but without the more way out elements of the bands earlier psychedelic material it's a pleasant album and hard core fans of the group will enjoy it.

Never The Bride - Surprise. CD. (Voiceprint - LSBR1CD) This band got their first break with a cover of 'Going To California' on the Led Zeppelin covers album. 'Enconium'; which was then followed swiftly in 1995 by their self-titled debut album. This is an excellent crossover between rock, blues and soul and will leave in no wonder as to how they have had great praise from the likes of Roger Daltrey, amongst others.

Rabbitt - A Croak & A Grunt In The Night. CD. (Voiceprint - VPCD31) South-African equivalent to the Beatles, outselling them in the 70s. This second album was recorded in 1976 The album contains 17 tracks, 7 of which written by TREVOR RABIN, who later went on to YES. The album gained the band another gold disc and various awards. Remastered and for the first time on CD.

Rabbitt - Boys Will Be Boys. CD. (Voiceprint - VP312CD) Rabbitt were once seen as being South Africa's answer to the Beatles and even outsold them in their own country!! This album is an important archive release for fans of Trevor Rabin and has been remastered for this reissue, a first for CD.

Refugee - Live In Concert: Newcastle City Hall 1974. CD. (Voiceprint - VP421CD) Recently a live cassette was found containing a performance of the band. That tape became the basis for the new live album Refugee Live In Newcastle,197 which is now available to purchase for the first time on CD. Previous bootleg releases are of a lower quality and this release has been cleaned up and remastered for release with the full co-operation of the members of the band and the story behind the discovery of the tape and the successful restoration of this tape is outlined in the sleeve notes.

Remember Knebworth 1978 - Various. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD42) This film chronicles the 1978 concert at Knebworth which featured British Band Genesis as headliners. Rick Wakeman - Sixty Minutes With.... CD. (Voiceprint - VP6015CD) Sixty Minutes With Rick Wakeman' manages to cover most aspects of Rick's solo career, from the classical to the symphonic and back to progressive rock. The collection begins with Jane Seymour and ends with Catherine Howard, two tracks that first appeared on Rick's hugely successful Six Wives Of Henry The VIII album. In between those two tracks is over thirty years of magnificent keyboard based music, including a version of Starship Trooper/Wurm which is drawn from the album Fields Of Green. Proving also that Rick can sometimes venture into the mainstream we have included the main track from Rick's hugely popular album 1984. This musical adaptation of George Orwell's classic literary piece featured guest appearances from Tim Rice and Jon Anderson. Robert Calvert - Cardiff January 1988 - Ejection. CD. (Voiceprint - VP386CD) Robert Calvert. Poet, singer, rock and roller, author, broadcaster, painter and all-round iconoclast. What more can be said about him? Well, a lot actually, as the press don't seem to have cottoned onto this man's genius in the way they should have. Maybe he just died the wrong side of 40 for coolness. This show is one of the last twenty he performed prior to his death, with an excellent band featuring guitarist Aaron Phillips, and features revving, chrome-plated renditions of such classics as 'Ejection' 'The Right Stuff' and 'Catch A Falling Starfighter', as well as the Hawkwind track most associate inextricably with him- 'Spirit Of The Age'. This is an officially sanctioned and remastered release overseen by his widow Jill, with original artwork.

Robert Calvert - Live At Middlesborough Poly May 1986- The Right Stuff. CD. (Voiceprint - VPCD385) The great poet and swordsman on stage in 1986 promoting his final opus 'Test Tube Concieved' just over two years before his untimely and sudden death from a heart attack. Much of the material that appears here is taken from that album, alongside trcaks from 'Captain Lockheed' 'Hype' and his time with Hawkwind. An officially sanctioned and remastered release now featuring orginal artwork.

Robert Calvert - Live In Manchester October 1986- In Vitro Breed. Dble CD. (Voiceprint - VPCD387) Former Hawkwind vocalist, poet, showman and all-round political agitator (not to mention unsung instigator of several musical fashions) Calvert and his band Maximum Effect (aka the Starfighters) recorded this set live in Manchester in October 1986, as part of the tour to promote the Test Tube Concieved album. The tracklisting features many tracks from that album such as 'In Vitro Breed' 'Save Them From The Scientists' (which may sound earnest and dated now but still had a valid point to make) 'Rah Rah Man' and 'Telikinesis', alongside two great tracks 'Ned Ludd' and 'All The Machines Are Quiet' from his socialist masterpiece "Freq" . And of course, it wouldn't be a Calvert show without some of the Hawkwind tunes he was most associated with (and so he bloody should be, he wrote them) 'Quark Strangeness And Charm' and 'Spirit Of The Age' as well as Michael Moorcock's 'Sonic Attack'. Robert Calvert - Radio Egypt - St Nichols' Barn Rehearsals 1987. CD. (Voiceprint - VPCD384) An excellent rehearsal tape recorded in the Autumn of 1987. Includes the band (featuring excellent guitarist Aaron Phillips) working out new arrangements of 'Ejection' 'The Right Stuff' 'Song Of The Gremlin' 'Catch A Falling Starfighter' and a rearranged version of his best-known composition 'Silver Machine' entitled 'Silver Machine Blues'. Robert Calvert - The Right Stuff. CD. (Voiceprint - VPCD 385) Robert Calvert, live at the Middlesborough Poly in May '86. Remastered from the original tapes, with permisiion from Roberts widow, one of many re-releases that will be coming out. Drawing from his recent album Test Tube Conceived as well as key Hawkwind songs, this is a great live album, capturing the essence of that special something that Robert had as a performer/writer and what makes him a collectable cult figure. Rock Scully - Two Decades On The Bus With Garcia And The Grateful Dead. CD. Written, arranged and recorded by Roye at his home studio in Stafford in 1998, but never previously available commercially.

Short Wave - Live. CD. (Voiceprint - VP347CD) Legendary Canterbury related outfit that featured Pip Pyle alongside Hugh Hopper, Didier Malherbe and Phil Miller. Formed in 1991 the band was very short lived due to the members other band engagements and Pyle returning to be a full time Gong member.This album contains recordings that have until now have not been widely heard.

Snowy White - Little Wing. CD. (Voiceprint - VP396CD) Guitarist Snowy White has maintained an extraordinary career as a guitarist, both as a highly individual solo artist and as backing musician to artists ranging from Al Stewart and Peter Green to Thin Lizzy and, most famously, Pink Floyd. Little Wing was originally released in 1998 and was highly successful in Europe at the time of release. This version now adds bonus tracks of previously unreleased recordings made by Snowy and The White Flames around the time of recording.

Snowy White - The Way It Is Live. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD12) DVD filmed on Snowy's March 2004 tour, featuring no Lizzy material and not even 'Bird Of Paradise' (shock horror!!) but plenty of bluesy originals and one or two Peter Green and Hendrix tunes. There's also plenty of unseen footage, and the atmosphere largely derives from seeing the man's devoted audience lap up the material with all the enthusiasm one would expect. Not to mention of course the musicianship: as well as Snowy himself, regular sidemen Richard Bailey and Kuma Harada are on top form. Initial copies come as a double package containing also a bonus CD of the concert. NTSC Region 0 disc.

Snowy White & The White Flames - Keep Out - We Are Toxic. CD. (Voiceprint - VP397CD) 'Snowy White remains one of the finest British guitarists of recent decades, both as a solo artist and guitar-slinger of choice for numerous bands, from Thin Lizzy to Pink Floyd. Keep Out - We’re Toxic was recorded in 1999 with Snowy’s band the White Flames. Considered to be one of his most powerful albums by his large and dedicated fan base, Keep Out - We’re Toxic finds Snowy working his way through an excellent set of well written modern blues and R 'n' B songs. This release has been unavailable for some time and this particular re-issue boasts two previously unreleased instrumental tracks from the White Flames Instrumental Sessions.

Soft Machine - Breda Reactor. Dble CD. (Voiceprint - VP345CD) The live recordings on this album come from an important but brief period in the history of Soft Machine when the band were a five piece made up of Robert Wyatt, Mike Ratledge, Hugh Hopper, Elton Dean and Lyn Dobson. Recorded in the Netherlands in 1971 the performance sees the quintet put a fresh improvised slant on some classic soft machine including "Moustrap" "Facelift" "Moon In June" "Out-Bloody-Rageous" and "Esther's Nose Job". With detailed sleeve notes by Brian Hopper (briefly a member of the band) and remastered sound this is one for the Canterbury archive

Soft Machine - Facelift. Dble CD. (Voiceprint - VP233CD) One of the earliest live performances from the Canterbury Sound giants, this was recorded at Fairfield Halls Croydon in 1970 and the line-up was Ratledge, Wyatt, Hopper and Dean. Two discs full of authentic live progressive jazz rock with all of the complexities, lyrical fluency and overlaid textures to be expected.

Soft Machine - Somewhere In Soho. Dble CD. (Voiceprint - VP262CD) Recorded at the legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz club in 1970 and featuring the Ratledge, Hopper and Wyatt lineup, including Elton Dean on sax, this double CD release gives fans a chance to hear a Soft machine performance from a time when they were truly pushing the boundaries of music. Comes fully remastered and fetures sleeve notes written by Brian Hopper.

Soft Machine - Turns On Vol. 1. CD. (Voiceprint - VP231CD) Great collection of studio recordings and live material from 1967 by the darlings of the swinging London psychedelic scene. This is much better sound quality than volume two of this series and features a host of previously unreleased material. Note that the quality is still less than perfect, but is fairly good.

Soft Machine - Turns On Vol. 2. CD. (Voiceprint - VP234CD) A collection of 1967 and 1968 live recordings made in London, Holland and the USA by one of the prime movers of the UK psychedelic underground. Packaged with period photos this is a lovingly put together historical document. Please note that due to the age of these recordings the quality is lo-fi but this does not detract from the overall brilliance of the performance.

Spacehead - Live At Hawkfest 2003. CD. (Voiceprint - HAWKVPP29CD) A great selection of tunes recorded live by Mr. Dibs' "Spacehead" band at the sellout 2003 Hawkfest (Spacehead have been a constant fixture at Hawkfest since it began). After several albums "Spacehead" have become something of a fan favourite amongst Hawkwind collectors and drew a large crowd for this gig, not hindered, I'm sure, by the fact that Dave Brock joined them on stage (and is thusly featured on this album). This set includes covers of classic Hawkwind fare 'Quark', 'Strangeness and Charm', 'Standing on the Edge of Time' and 'Choose Your Masques' as well as a selection of the band's own material.

Steel Pulse - Introspective. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD16) A potted history of and worthy introduction to this Birmingham-based reggae band who actually first came to the public's attention playing on punk bills under such banners as Rock Against Racism. Formed whilst still at school in 1975, their classic 1978 debut album 'Handsworth Revolution' and its single 'Ku Klux Klan' have left a long lasting impact on British reggae. This Region 0 DVD takes you through the band's past and also towards their future, via an in depth interview with key members Selwyn Brown and David Hinds, and much previously unseen footage of the band both past and present- as well as seven of their most important songs included in full. Just don't mention that other Birmingham reggae band.

Steve Hillage - Germany 77 - Rockpalast. DVD + CD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD32) It's not often that a really tasty DVD comes up for grabs but this one is a prime example. Recorded by Steve Hillage with his band in 1977 and having recently released the L album in collaboration with Todd Rundgren, this intimate concert recording captures in stunning sound quality the full power of Hillages psychedelic electrick gypsy muzik. If you needed any assurance as to what a great guitarist he was then this is it. Filmed for TV (Rockpalast) and not officially released before. Steve Jolliffe - Invitation. CD. (Voiceprint - SRNA401) Excellent compilation of tracks taken from Steve Jolliffe's solo albums from 1979-1996. Steve Jolliffe initially rose to prominence with his short tenure as a member of Steamhammer and Tangerine Dream before he launched a prolific solo career that saw him release albums year after year through the '80s and into the '90s. Jolliffe is perhaps best known for his synthesizer and keyboard work. In addition, he's played a number of other instruments on his recordings clarinet, flute, sax, various other horns, and so on. Given his impressive resumé, it's no surprise Jolliffe established himself so prominently as a cult artist.

Tangerine Dream - 35th Anniversary Phaedra Concert. DVD. (Voiceprint - VPDVD29) Twenty seven track live concert celebrating the German bands 1974 landmark album and incorporating elements of their entire career. Recorded at the Shepherds Bush Empire on 12th June 2005. Highlighting Edgar Froese's maverick unsettled spirit, the show beginswith some skillfully crafted ambient tracks which slowly brings in dance rhythms, while the last quarter has a far more rockier in style before returning to their Kraut Rock beginnings. Tangerine Dream - Inferno. CD. (Voiceprint - TDPCD 032) Recorded live at St Marien Zu Bernau Cathedral in 2001. The music is based on Dantes Inferno, a fusion of elecronics, space head sounds and pioneering effects. Plus added atmosphere created by the Cathedral's acoustics. Beautiful psychedelic cover.

Tangerine Dream - Madcap's Flaming Duty. CD. (Voiceprint - EGVP106CD) Tangerine Dream celebrates their 40th Anniversary in 2007 with the release of their latest album -"Madcap's Flaming Duty". Released 2nd April 2007, the album is dedicated to former Pink Floyd guitarist Syd Barrett who died in July 2006. The lyrics for each of the songs on the new album are adapted from English and American poets from 17th and 18th century literature by Bianca F. Acquaye. The music is written by Edgar Froese and Thorsten Quaeschning.

Televison Personalities - I Was A Mod Before You Was A Mod. CD. (Voiceprint - OVER41CD) The last album of original material by the Television Personalities" I was a Mod…" was released in 1995 and was the first album of new material by the band for three years. Recorded at Toe Rag Studios the album was directed by Dan Treacy with a back to basics attitude and a suitably low budget. Capturing everything you need to know about how to be a Mod this album is a back to the roots youth culture testament by a legendary UK indie band.

Third Ear Band - Live. CD. (Voiceprint - VP157CD) Although the Third Ear Band recorded for Harvest (home to many of Britain's leading prog rock acts) in the late 60s, the group was more of an experimental ensemble relying on strictly acoustic instruments. Trance-like rhythmic patterns inspired by the classical music of India.This album is an incredible live set from the bands reunion tour, featuring two of their famous deconstructed ragas,plus the avant guard minimalist drumming of glen Sweeny on a variety of hand drums.

Tim Blake - Blake's New Jerusalem. CD. (Voiceprint - VP212CD) Brilliant trippy solo album by classic Gong keyboard player. The ultimate magic mushroom new age album. Employing a barrage of synthesisers, moogs and other electronic devices and also playing guitars and singing, Blake creates a wondrous dream like world of crystals, lasers and cosmic lighthouses and even interprets the "Jerusalem" of his namesake William Blake.

Tim Blake - Crystal Machine. CD. (Voiceprint - VP211CD) Second album of tripped out electronic space music from the Gong/Hawkwind man. Recorded in the studio and live at a free festival in 1976 this weird mushroomed album is loaded with moogs, synths flangers and oscillators. A bit of a classic.

Tim Blake - Magick. CD. (Voiceprint - VP210CD) 1991 release from the keyboard wizard. A more reflective and sombre mood on this album, recorded in his windmill home in Brittany. Still plenty to enthuse about of course, even in a minimalist sense this still impresses.

Tim Blake - Tide Of The Century. CD. (Voiceprint - BP340CD) 2000 album from the sometime Hawkwind/Gong synth and keyboard wizard. As you'd expect it's a mix of ethereal spacey ambience and blissed-out piano pieces, with a general theme of Twentieth Century trials and tribulations. More vocals than usual too.

Trevor Rabin - Can't Look Away. CD. (Voiceprint - VP366CD) Opinion is divided on this South African axe hero- is he a purveyor of consummate AOR/hard rock a la Derringer and Billy Squier, or is he the man who changed the world's premier prog band into a polished pop act? The answer is a bit of both really- but whatever the premise, he made some damn good albums, and 'Can't Look Away' (originally released in 1989 during the hiatus over who owned the rights to the Yes name) is one of them. Unavailable in any format for many years due to deletion, this much sought after album (the tour for which was captured on the subsequent ' Live In LA' album)is now remastered and finally available. Not just for Yes fans: anyone who loves quality hard rock should dig this.

Tygers Of Pan Tang - The Wreck-Age/Live At Nottingham Rock City. CD. (Voiceprint - NR241018CD) Two albums on one CD- this time bringing together two releases from one of Newcastle's premier metallic exports. 'The Wreck-Age' was originally released in 1985, showed a more melodic sound emerging from the Tygers' roar than previously had been the case, and should have been the album that took the band to the final stage of stardom, but sadly fell under the weight of over-hyping of American hair acts: the 'Live' album has never been released previously but was recorded at the height of the band's popularity in 1981 with Jon Deverill on vocals, shortly before guitarist John Sykes defected to join Thin Lizzy, a version of which he still led in the 21st century. Pure unadulterated Brit metal from the days when it was Metal. . .

Violeta De Outono - Early Years. CD. (Voiceprint - VPB102CD) On this disc Brazil's favourite progressive space rock band, cover their roots. Recorded in 1988, versions of "Interstellar Overdrive" and "Within You, Without You" sit alongside The Stones' "Citadel" and Gong's "Blues For Findlay". It's all done with obvious respect, but perhaps the crowning glory is the bonus track - a 17 minute medley of "Echoes / No Quarter" that's worth the price of admission alone.

Violeta De Outono - Woman On The Mountain. CD. (Voiceprint - VPB101CD) 1999 album from the Brazilian band with links to Gong. Not quite as overtly progressive as previous outings, this takes a slightly more commercial rock/pop stance as it's central theme. It's all done with the usual impeccable taste though. And they continue their Pink Floyd dedication with a nifty version of "Astronomy Domine". BARGAIN PRICE.

Water Rats - The Gathering. CD. (Voiceprint - VP282CD) The Water Rats were, and still are, a brotherhood that sought to raise charitable donations through performance. Established in 1889 and now counting the likes of Rick Wakeman, Midge Ure and Brian May amongst its exclusive membership, this CD features performances by these personalities as well as many others. As if that wasn't enough, and in true Water Rats style, ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS ALBUM WILL GO TO CHARITY.

Wendy Carlos - Rediscovering Lost Scores Volume 2. CD. (Voiceprint - VP395CD) Eerily beautiful compilation album of original modern electronic/ orchestral film scores, remastered by the lady herself. This volume contains extracts from the films The Shining, Tron, Split Seconds and Woundings, incorparating more live orchestral arrangements thatn volume 's electronica. A fabulous piece of work, proving that like Bernard Hermann, sometimes you need the underscore to take centre stage to drive a scene/film. The opening credits to the Sining imediately come to mind when hearing the first eight tracks, that desolate road cutting through the barren frozen landscape (slightly different with the Tron tracks mind you, I keep seeing the Strokes video that aped the day glow effect). Fantastically evocative soundtrack

Wendy Carlos - Tales Of Heaven And Hell. CD. (Voiceprint - VP408CD) Lock the doors and turn off the lights! It's the long-awaited new work by Wendy Carlos, Grammy-winning composer and synthesist, creator of Switched-On Bach and the electronic score to Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. On Tales..., Carlos explores the dark side with characteristic sonic depth and brilliance. The major piece on this CD is "Clockwork Black,"is a musical Fantasia on themes from the Clockwork Orange filmscore. It contains a lot of unsavory business in its images and program. After all, a trip through Hell will contain sadism and things that go bump in the night.

Yardbirds - Greatest Hits Live In London. CD. (Voiceprint - VP416CD) The Yardbirds remain one of the truly legendary and influential bands of the sixties. "Reunion Jams" was recorded in the 100 Club London in 1992.
