Danny Ben Israel - Bullshit 3 1/4. LP. (World In Sound Records - RFR-016) First re-issue of one of the rarest Israeli psych records. Recorded between 1968 and 1970 this is a stoned masterpiece with many psychedelic effects that sounds in places like The Churchills and is quite possibly Israel's best kept secret.This IS a psychedelic monster. (World In Sound Records - WIS-1023) Five guys from Cleveland recorded 7 tracks, released a test pressing on Pama Records in 1970 as an edition of only 85 copies and created a milestone for all heavy/psychedelic music collectors. The Doors brought main inspiration to their music, with the difference; the songs are heavier and more progressive; the sound is dominated by great vocals, freaked out heavy guitar solos and swirling Hammond B3 organ. The core of musicians started as Sunrise in 1968 and released one 45 record. This CD is from the mastertape which seemed to be lost, contains 5 bonus tracks (3 unreleased), a bio, cool original artwork and photos. Comes in a high quality digipack cover with an extra 8 page booklet. A true lost masterpiece!

Glenn Faria - Glenn Faria. CD. (World In Sound Records - WIS1007) First re-issue of this contry influenced, psychedelic/rock/folk album only issued as a promo in 1974 on the Tiger Lily label. The song 'Love Is Calling' will take you to unexpected psych/folk heaven. The music was recorded in New York during 1970/71 after Glenn's departure from his psychedelic band the Headstone Circus. Hamana - Hamana. LP. (World In Sound Records - RFR-027) Hamana´s debut album, recorded in 1974, was issued on the local Phoenix label, Canyon Records. To most of the 60´s psychedelic rock/folk fans this is almost an unknown album, original pressings seem to be disappeared, only a few copies are known in collectors hands. Bruce Hamana, a native American, is member of the Indian Hopi Tribe and went in 1969 to college near San Francisco to live -in the white man's world. Instead of traditional native American themes he felt like writing modern, revolutionary, contemporary music. The result you hear on this album is powerful and melodic, and expresses perfectly the sunny California peace, love & freedom feeling, but also contains a social-critical message: 'One of these days everything is gonna change, things you take for granted will be taken away from you' - The music itself is emotive with strong vocals, lots of West Coast psychedelic guitar flashes, with a touch of garage flair and a smidgin of loner folk style. This album should appeal to fans of Quicksilver Messenger Service, The Byrds, X.I.T, Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, Garrett Lund : almost unbelievably, on these recordings all instruments, bass, guitars, vocals and drums have been played by Hamana himself, to get overdubbed and to become finally a tasty and atmospheric stereo acoustic/electric mix. (World In Sound Records - WIS1024) CD reissue from the original mastertape, including bios, photos and 7 bonus tracks of this classic US '60s expolito-psych album that goes totally over the top. Crammed full of distorted acid guitar and weird effects (choirs, backwards bits etc.) this is like a bit like Vanilla Fudge but much more extreme... Tracks like "Listen With A Third Ear" and "Prophecy" are particularly mind disturbing. CD contains 7 bonus tracks. This is fantastic psychedelia.

(World In Sound Records - WIS1026) Here at last is an official CD re-issue of this incredible album recorded in San Diego in 1967 and very much influenced by The Beatles. It contains some great power pop, Eastern quasi-mysticism and psychedelic punk interludes packed with fuzzed up guitar and demented vocal treatments. The title track is an insane psych punk voyage, whilst "Boil the Kettle Mother" ranks as one of THE great '60's fuzz punkers of all time. Jeff Simmons - Naked Angels & Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up. Dble CD. (World In Sound Records - WIS-1035/36) This 2CD set presents the Straight label years of Zappa´s multi-talented "sideman", Jeff Simmons. In 1968 in Seattle Herb Cohen and Frank Zappa was in the audience after his sound check, and was listening to "Easy Chair", Jeff´s group. Fascinated by his talent, he was signed for Straight records. Both albums, "Lucille Has Messed My Mind Up" and "Naked Angels" were recorded in 1969.CD #1 The Lucille album was produced by by Chris Huston (Led Zeppelin II, Undertakers, Young Rascals) and Frank Zappa under the synonym "La Marr Bruister", who wrote the title track, played lead guitar on two tracks and co-wrote "Wonderful Wino". Lucille contains 10 catchy and heavy Blues-Rock and Folk, Jeff is "playing a hard-driven and groovy bass, piano, organ and accordion and singing in a style similar to that of Jack Bruce with Cream. Simmons presented a brace of strong, harmonically sophisticated songs that have some of the explosive, multi-hued impact of the Jimi Hendrix Experience. (Ben Watson, excerpted from Frank Zappa: "The Negative Dialectics of Poodle Play")... "No one knows it... not even him... but someday that kid's gonna be a great R&B singer" (Frank Zappa). Jeff was in the Mothers of Invention at the time of 200 Motels, Jeff also played rhythm guitar on Waka/Jawaka and clown about with Frank and George Duke on Roxy & Elsewhere.CD #2 Naked Angels, a soundtrack for a biker movie is a sequence of mostly instrumentals that combine melody and fuzz guitar; heavy, psychedelicate surf-rock. This album contains 4 originals and 4 improvised covers tunes which are Dark Star (Grateful Dead), Witches Moon (Quicksilver Messenger Service), a heavy Spacepatrol Orion version (authorized by Peter Thomas - Sci-Fi Sound from the mid-60s) and Yoo Doo Right (CAN) as a 17 min. version with stunning moog space parts and tribal voodoo percussions. The production sounds natural and grew from a free concept to a strong compact album of 65 mins intense music. (btw: 3/4 of the band support the US-group Dragonwyck at live shows). The CD (digipack) contains nice artwork and an 8 p. booklet. - Highly recommended to sophisticated rock/fusion/jam listeners who like intense organ vs. guitar battles and to those who like to enjoy well produced experimental sounds to test their "audiophile" stereo equipment.

Laghonia - EtCetera. LP + 7". (World In Sound Records - RFR024) Peruvian outfit's album originally released in 1971, the album showed the bands songwriting getting more complex and is similar at times to early Jethro Tull, King Crimson etc, sometimes progressive, sometimes folky or esotheric, but always intense and catchy. English lyrics, excellent fuzz and wah-wah guitars, magic Hammond B-2 organ and a variety of rhythms. It comes with outstanding original artwork, a true psychedelic painting by M. Cornejo, in thick a foldout cover, and extra 7" 4 track EP with 2 never before released songs.

Laghonia - Glue (1969-70). CD. (World In Sound Records - WIS1022) Catchy psychedelic Rock´n´Roll stuff, with lyrics in English, intense fuzz, wah-wah Guitars, Hammond B-2 organ and a massive,variety of percussive sounds. The songwriting is strong with the music going into Santana, Cream, Hendrix and other directions. 4 bonustracks and a bio round off this masterpiece of the complete New Juggler Sound recordings perfectly. Comes in a high quality digipack cover with an extra 8 pagebooklet and amazing original artwork by M. Cornejo. This album is one of the best South American psychedelic collector albums and a must for Sixties Garage- andPsychedelic- Rock freaks.

Often compared to Som Imaginario this band were involved with Gal Costa performing on one of her albums. Comes in the original and stunning triple fold-out sleeve made of heavy duty card whilst the vinyl is pressed in a 180 gram slab! Mega! There is an inferior version of this album on the market.

Michael James - Runaway World. CD. (World In Sound Records - WIS-1034) This album is a great artifact for all 60s and 70s music collectors, original copies in good condition change hands for about 500 US$. The spirit of the music is a tasty combination between aggressive fuzz-garage-hard rock and atmospheric psych-folk with moody vocals and a poetic message, comparable to Phantasia or "Dr. Hooker. In between perfectly arranged songs like "You Don´t Walk On M y Street", "I Remember" and the psych-trip "Sleepers", you´ll hear weird spoken word themes as Guatamalan Strange, Electronic Silver and heavy-riff instrumentals. This CD-reissue is produced from the original analog master tapes with a 12 p. booklet and 5 bonus tracks.

Mu - 1st Album. LP. (World In Sound Records - MDL-002) Official reissue, in original sleeve, of the rare debut album issued in 1971 by the small Beverly Hills label RTV. It was recorded by the band whilst living on a half acre estate in Canoga Park, California when they were heavily into meditation and vegetarianism. "Mu" is full of well-structured, often mystical songs with some tasty laid back guitar work from Merrell Fankhauser (ex HMS Bounty and Fapardokly) and Jeff Cotton (of Captain Beefheart's Magic Band). Housed in a beautiful hard card, gatefold sleeve.The record was remastered in analog (!) from the original master tapes at renowned Bauer Studios in Ludwigsburg and pressed on high quality 180g vinyl.

Psiglo - Psiglo II. LP. (World In Sound Records - RFR-009) The second album from this Uruguyan band was recorded in 1974, but did not get a release until 1980. That limited press of 200 copies quickly sold out - finally a quality reissue sees the light of day. This is quality spacey progressive rock music with a hard edge and socio-political messages (sung in Spanish) loaded with powerful, tight guitar and keyboard work, melodic flute and vocal harmonies. Beautiful super thick card cover and 180 gram vinyl.

The groups included are: Blackrock, Sound Machine, Yesterday´s Obsession, Mastermind, Sangre Mexicana, Bhagavad Gita, Protein Bros, Purple Canteen, Los Nuevos Shains, Blow Mind and the A & B-side of the legendary Dirty Filthy Mud single (who apparantly hung out with the Elevators). At least 50% of the songs are unreissued and presented with great soundquality and 8 p. booklet. Certainly a piece of wax for Dr. Leary´s students: Turn on, Tune in, Listen again! To be continued.

Red Medium - Various - Red Medium - Various. LP. (World In Sound Records - WIS-001) Great compilation of '70's French Music Library instrumental sounds. Groovy easy listening vibes and lounge elevator '70's kitsch, mix together to create turquoise and purple audio wallpaper for the mind. Jason King would have been in awe.

Stephen Pegues - Mellow Understanding. CD. First re-issue of 1972 US acid folk album in Perry Leopold vein (but electric).

Stoned Circus - Revisited. CD. (World In Sound Records - WIS 1019) An outstanding piece of US psychedelia from this act founded in Kansas, 1968 and not to be confused with Stone Circus that recorded for the Mainstream label. The powerful sound with male and female vocals, great organ and heavy fuzzy guitars has a strong Jefferson Airplane/Big Brother feeling. This previously unreleased (on CD) 1970 material was found in the the archives of the Cavern Sound Studios where the Wizards from Kansas also recorded. Includes "Gotta find a way", "New World", a cover of Zeppelin's "Gonna leave You" and more. Now reissued from the original masters with a detailed biography and pictures, in collaboration with the band.

(World In Sound Records - WIS-006) Limited vinyl version of this act from New York City, who were one of the early birds from the US psychedelic underground scene, with an LP on the market, originally released on Smash Records, in `68. This album stands for the evolution of the 45 rpm psych-garage bands to the upcoming LP-generation with extended improvisation parts. Tea Company evolved from the Naturals, which were founded in 1963 and played the big ballroom supporting Mamas and the Papas, The Lovin’ Spoonful, Bob Dylan, Ritchie Havens, and many others. The band describes themselves as an assemblage of possessed rock performers; retinue preparing the unusual; alternating with the roots of soul whose purpose is to cause sensation, due to stimulation of the auditory centers of the brain!. They became famous in San Francisco for spectacular live shows and lyrical hippie statements. The music is influenced by the Beatles, because they used exactly the same equipment. The group played with lots of freaked-out-echo-organ/-guitar noises on a 12 string Rickenbacher and various stereo madness reminds strongly of Syd Barrett´s spirit but more driven by hard hittin´ drums. Being buddies of Vanilla Fudge and inspired, the Tea Company also did an outrageous 9 min. version of "You keep me hangin on", which is celebrated among 60s collectors as a true milestone. The album is a mindblowing intense production. A must for those who wanna free their minds with unusual "early"Rock´n´Roll experiences!

Travellers Aid - Corduroy Roads. LP. (World In Sound Records - RFR-005) First issued in 1970 with a print run of just 100 copies, this psychedelic rural tinged rock album came from a Californian band previously known as The Torquays. An upbeat rural garage sound with electric and acoustic guitar moves that are similar to the Burrito's/Dead etc.

(World In Sound Records - WIS-003) On their 2005 analogue-recorded debut album the quintet Treacle People very impressively, and with attention to fine detail, revive the spirit, the musicianship and the passion of their British idols from the early 70s. The eight partly epic original compositions have been recorded in 2 sessions 'live' in studio and reflect many-faceted, progressive, psychedelic and classical hard rock. Their wide musical spectrum presents striking vocals ("Cruelest Secret" - "Zero Gravity") .... atmospheric but also aggressive guitar ("Neptune's Kiss" - "Anschlag") .... and pulsating, excessive-rocking hammond-organ ("Last Song"). They are inspired by the roots of the progressive and psychedelic hard rock from 60's and early 70's-and if that's not a reccomenddation, then what is? Limited vinyl edition in a gatefold cover.

Playing all instruments Trevor creates a sound part way between acid rock and folk rock with multi-layered fuzz guitar mixing with acoustic guitar simple percussion and bass. At times the sound is a bit like UK band Fresh Maggots. A very early example of a private pressing original albums are incredibly rare and this is very good ! Beautiful heavy duty sleeve and vinyl.

Trip In Time Volume 1 - Various. CD. (World In Sound Records - WISTIT 2501) Eleven track compilation from the World In Sound label, celebrating psychedelia and prog rocks long history. A bridge from the birth of psyche to the modern day. Remastered, live recordings and rarities by underground groups like Siena Root, Stoned Circus, Loxley Beade and Ma-Nia. Includes a live cover of Floyd's "Atom Heart Mother" by Treacle People, an unreleased track from La Ira De Dios's Hacia El Sol Rojo album sessions and a cover of Can's Mother Sky by Vibravoid. The trip has just begun!

Trizo 50 - Trizo 50. LP + 7". (World In Sound Records - RFR 21) Thick vinyl version Post-PHANTASIA band that recorded about 150 songs on a 4-track machine during 1973/1974. The musical spectrum ranges from 2 minute psychedelic beat/garage tunes with harmony vocals, excessive fuzz reminding of the Seeds, Stooges, Yardbirds and Music Emporium, to distorted Zappa-esque hardrock and stoner acid folk. This issue contains 15 tracks, the first part of an extended biography presented on a poster insert.

Wazoo - Wazoo. CD. (World In Sound Records - WIS1033) From Detroit a weird experimental psych outfit from 1970. Originally the band was hired by 'Zig Zag Records' to record cover tunes and easy listening. Originals are rare and pretty unknown among psych collectors until now! The 7 songs with an average length of 7 mins combine different styles of music, from heavy garage rock to bluesy west coast, drifting into various tripped-out, funk, jazz, fusion elements with humorous/social comments. Structure, feeling and complexity can be compared to experimental Krautrock, while the group´s basic sound is represented better by end-60s US Hippie Rock as Country Joe & the Fish or The Head Shop with its excessive fuzz guitar work, Farfisa organ, amazing vocals, lots of unexpected mixing, with flashes of UK´s legendary "White Noise". This CD issue contains a 12 p. colour booklet with a band´s bio, and the cool original album design, made by John Williams who also worked for Zappa - so it can be assumed which influences Zappa used for his 1972, 'Grand Wazoo' album?!?This is a unique piece of early 70s psychedelia!
