Air Supply - All Out Of Love- The Ultimate Performance. CD. (Cherry Red DVDs - CRDVD100)

Hankies at the ready. . .Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell, aka Air Supply, are back, they're in your town and practically every song's a ballad. The band who make Journey, Toto, Les Holroyd's BJH and REO Speedwagon sound like Flipper, Bad Brains, Napalm Death and Anal Cunt by comparison, possibly the ultimate name in soft rock and the doyen of a million 80s arenas. Actually, in all seriousness, it's easy to poke fun but the truth is that Hitchcock and Russell are great songwriters and masters of the melodic craft, no more, no less. This DVD was filmed on their reunion tour in 2004, and shows they've lost none of their old magic as they treat an enraptured (or 'rapt' as they say Down Under) audience to 'Even The Nights Are Better' 'Lost In Love' 'Every Woman In The World' 'Here I Am' 'Sweet Dreams' 'Making Love Out Of Nothing At All' (a personal favourite of your scribe) and of course 'All Out Of Love', the song that ate everybody in the early 80s out of Kleenex!! The fact is, 25 years on, there's still no-one that does this kinda stuff better. Wanna learn to write a classic love song? Buy this, listen up, and watch very very carefully!!

Chrome Locust - Chrome Locust. CD. (Tee Pee/MIA - 1007-2)

US stoner rock debut from a band featuring ex-members of Murphy's Law and D-Generation. Think Kyuss, Bad Brains or even Black Sabbath with flashes of Hawkwind and you'll get some idea of the high octane intensity and power behind this excellent album.
