Acid House Kings - Sing Along With Acid House Kings. CD. (Labrador - LAB075) Third UK release from this enchanting and captivating Svedish guitar pop band, fronted by the dual male and female vocals of Niklas AnderGAArd and Julia Annerheim. There have been a fair amount of great Swede-pop bands in the last ten years, from the Cardigans and Wannadies to Kent, the Motorhomes and the more dance-oriented Teddybears STHLM, but the AHK are the closest the scene has produced yet to a genuinely epic, almost Californian sunshine-pop sound whilst retaining the melancholy of english Bowlie acts such as Felt, Belle And Sebastian, Baxendale etc. Their songtitles are great as well ('I Write Summer Songs For No Reason' and 'London School Of Economics' are just two examples) and there's not any acid house- not even in a St Etienne kind of way- in the music at all!! Fab!

Cowboy Billie Boem - En De Indiaan. CD. (Papegaaiplaat - KEEC 594066) Legendary fuzzzzzzed out country psych-folk from Mongolia on the ultra-hip PapeGAAiplaat label. Highly recommended by the legendary apocalyptic psych wizard Ruudje D. and Mrs Baklap! O yes!

Juan De La Cruz - Maskara. CD. (Victor Entertainment - BCD165) Totally rocked out bluesy stoner jams, with sex and party obsessed lyrics that are pure rock ‘n’ roll. Originally released in 1974 and the band’s second studio album . Highlights abound: ‘Pinoy Blues’, ‘Nadapa Sa Arina’, ‘Beep Beep’, ‘We Love You’, ‘Palengke’, and ‘Pagod Sa Pahinga’. No-frills packaging, but still a great way to acquire some of the best material by these heavy rock legends. Digitally remastered official CD reissue from the Philippines!

Maxwells - Maxwell Street. CD. (Long Hair Music - LHCD028) Originally released on MPS in 1969. This is a truly jewel for all progressive music enthusiastics. Ahead of its time the album is an eclectic mixture of beat, psychedelia and little hints of jazz rock.You could compare it to the debut of Burnin' Red Ivanhoe.The14 minute title track Maxwells Street sounds like a continuation of the Rolling Stones' Their Satanic Majesties Requests. Lars BisGAArd and Bent Hesselmann later played with the Rainbow Band. Comes with bonus tracks, informative booklet with liner notes by original band member Bent Hesselmann and has been digitally remastered from the original tapes. Highly recommended!

Morta Skuld - Resurface. CD. (Peaceville/Snapper - CDVILED135) Compilation of three albums from Milwaukee based death-grind Metallers, originally released on Peaceville in the mid-90s. Brutal riffage, shredding solos and razor sharp blastbeats- you know the drill by now! (Is there a drill on it as well? It sounds like it.-Ed) GAAaarrrr, ugggggggg, thwaaaaaaarrrr, doooooorrffffff. . .digipak.

Psychedelic Underground - Vol. 3. CD. (Garden Of Delights - CD 030) More bargain priced Krautrock sounds from Garden of Delights. This limited edition sampler includes tracks by GAA, Arktis, Siloah and Agitation Free amongst others.Found 1 copy of this old sampler.

Superheroes - Behind Our Masks We Are Perfectly Ordinary People. CD. (Sidewinder - SDWR5) Danish six-piece Superheroes are set to make their UK debut on October 25th with the release of "Behind Our Masks We Are Perfectly Ordinary People" on Sidewinder Sounds. Back home, they're signed to Crunchy Frog (alongside Junior Senior) and have been releasing albums and winning major awards for six years. Even so, the band are all still in their early twenties. "Behind Our Masks" features tracks from all 3 of their albums, "Dancing Casanova", "Igloo" and "Superheroes" and from 2 EPs, mostly recorded at Tambourine Studies in Sweden, and showcases their irresistibly quirky pop songs.A diverse set of influences including Depeche Mode, Duran Duran and The Human League can be heard through the sunny escapism of "What's Going On?" and singalong sweet harmonies of "Voice (On The Radio)" to the electro fuzz of "Miami". The band started when singer/songwriter Thomas Troelson and guitarist Asger TarpGAArd met at school in a village just outside northern Danish town Skive. They even pressed up their first demo CD before Thomas" voice had broken! Since then, they"ve toured the US, Japan, France and The Netherlands and supported Beck in Stockholm at his personal invitation. Thomas also produced Junior Senior"s 2003 album "D-D-Don"t Stop The Beat" and sang the unstoppable chorus on hit single "Move Your Feet." Junior and Senior return the favour with guest appearances on "Cool Girl" and "Johnny And I".
