Axel Manrice Heilhecker - Fishmoon. CD.

Excellent ambient styled album from Axel which comes over like the KLF's Chill Out album with strange samples and long guitar passages.Recorded in 1992 this really is a beautiful late night album with classic samples from Hendrix,Moby Dick (the movie),and the voices of Humphrey Bogart,Gregory Peck.

Bill Drummond - The Man. CD. (Castle - CMRCD1233)

To some a seminal figure, to others merely 'famous for being famous'. Everyone has their own opinion of Bill Drummond, the enigmatic South African who ensonced himself in the Liverpool scene of the late 70s/early 80s (becoming, like practically everyone else who ever went to Eric's, a member of the quasi-legendary Big In Japan). Head of Zoo Records alongside the Teardrops' Dave Balfe, svengali figure to the Bunnymen, 'ideas man' behind Strawberry Switchblade, Zodiac Mindwarp and the Proclaimers, and ultimately the man behind the KLF (upon which the FE jury is still out)- so many strings to one bow, yet little is remembered of his own career as a singer songwriter, which began an ended with this one album on Creation in 1987 after his resignation from his own label. Never released on CD before, expanded thanks to the addition of the bonus track 'A Manager Speaks' (which is worth £30 as the B side of the original 72 single of 'King Of Joy') and featuring liner notes from the man himself. Includes the by now legendary 'Julian Cope Is Dead' (a riposte to 'Bill Drummond Said' from Copey's "Fried" album)- sure to resurrect some old controversies!!

Mad Professor/Various - Method To The Madness. Dble CD. (Trojan - TJDDD273)

First ever retrospective compilation of one of Jamaica's leading dubbists- the man who has turned his magic wheels of steel since the early 80s, and set them to work on lucky recipients such as Max Romeo, Pato Banton (don't be put off by that crap No 1 hit in the 90s, he's a great reggae artist!) Horace Andy, Scientist, Ruts DC, The KLF, The Orb, Lee Perry, The Young Gods, Jamiroquai, Massive Attack (as on the now legendary 'No Protection' album, which actually improved on the original) and even Perry Farrell of Jane's Addiction. All of these and more are included here: of added note is that the Prof compiled this set himself, and the sleevenotes feature the ramblings of noted reggae authority Dave Katz. One might call this a dub-ble CD set (and then again, one might NOT-Ed)

Transit Kings - Living In A Giant Candle Winking At God. CD. (Malicious Damage - MD616)

An ambient super group in 2006? Featuring a comedian from the Fast Show? What the hell is this? Alex Paterson (The Orb), Jimmy Cauty (KLF), Guy Pratt (Waters-replacing Floyd bass player) and Orb producer Dom Beken combine efforts to create a truly interesting and ambient dance album. Featuring Simon Day and Johnny Marr as guests, this is strictly unconventional dance of the highest order. Featuring programming, indian flutes, samplers, harmonicas, flutes, guitars and shouting, an irresistable blend of genius.
