John Mayall - Hardcore Package/Last Of The British Blues. CD. (B.G.O. Records - BGOCD 493)

2fer reissue of the fifth and sixth albums Mayall made for Blue Thumb/ABC between 1975 and 1978, which he claims were written as tax writeoffs. Lineup at the time featured Mayall, James Quill Smith, Steve Thompson and Soko Richardson, and although still very much a blues band, this was one of our man's more rock-based lineups. The second album is live and includes covers of Mose Allison, Willie Smith and Freddie King tunes alongside originals including 'The Bear'. Remastered with new liner notes.
