Cries From The Midnight Circus - Various. CD. (Castle - CMQDD1511)

Back in the late 60s, Swinging London had its very own equivalent of San Franciscos Haight Ashbury or New Yorks Greenwich Village -Ladbroke Grove. This West London enclave was the epicentre of all things cool and underground this was where the beautiful people hung out and grooved to their very own community rock bands like Hawkwind, the Pink Fairies, and Quintessence; where the people on the street rubbed shoulders with the musicians - writers like Michael Moorcock, artists like Barney Bubbles - and even had their own alternative newspaper Frendz. This was where Nic Roeg shot his legendary film Performance. This 2-cd set will transport you back to a time when change was in the air and the music was played for free. 1. Lemmy - Damage Case- The Anthology. Dble CD. (Castle/Sanctuary - CMEDD1205)

A total career retrospective of the mighty Lemster, regarded as rock royalty by many. Several Hawkwind and Motorhead tunes rear their head here, as do the inevitable Headgirl collaboration and his early works as a member of The Rockin Vickers and Sam Gopal. However, the star features here are the lesser known tracks by the Young And Moody Band, and his collaborations with Ramones, Slim Jim Phantom, Doro Pesch, Probot, The Upsetters (featuring Pirate Mick Green) and The Damned, with whom he covered 'Ballroom Blitz', as well as plenty of solo material, some of which has never seen the light of day before. And liner notes aplenty. In short, Kilmistertastic!!
