13th Floor Elevators - Reverberations. Dble CD. (Atom Music - ATOM2007) With guitarist’s Roky Erickson’s psychotic vocals, and Tommy Hall’s electronically amplified jug, The Elevators caused a sensation. On top of this, the bass from John Ike Walton’s drums were so powerful it was said it was necessary to chain his drums to the stage. Disc 1 features The Psychedelic Sounds Of The 13th Floor Elevators album, disc 2 is mainly made up of material from their final album "Bull Of The Woods", which was put together after the band was broken up, due to Roky being committed to a State Hospital for the Criminally Insane! What we have here is the legacy of a group, now widely regarded for their work, to the extent ZZ Top, R.E.M. and Primal Scream have all covered their material.
