As well as singing vocal backup for Aretha for many years and writing several of her biggest hits, Carolyn had a great voice that could be heard to excellent effect on her four RCA albums between 1969 and 1976. This CD anthologises virtually all of Carolyn's RCA singles- A's and B's as well as a hand picked selection of the very best tracks from those albums. Her great voice and superb choice of material- a considerable amount of it self composed, a rarity on the scene- is complemented by a team of legendary East Coast arrangers and producers including Jimmy Radcliffe, Bobby Martin and Buddy Scott. Features a sleeve note by David Cole, editor of The Basement. The first ever appearance in the UK for nearly all this material. Soon people will realise that Aretha and Erma weren't the only Franklin sisters!!
