Can - Soon Over Babaluma. CD. (Mute - CDSPOON 10) CD issue of the first post-Suzuki Can album, featuring a less aggressive but still highly rhythmic and trancey style that seems to have influenced punks, proggers and technoheads alike. 'Dizzy Dizzy' with its whispered vocal from guitarist Michael Karoli, is the best-known track, and its lyric 'don't throw ashtrays at me' gave its name to a Swell Maps song, but the standout is probably the 12-minute plus 'Chain Reaction' (no relation to the Bee Gees tune of the same name!) which features some heavy duty percussion and some decidedly odd lyrics about elephant women dominating Russia. Your guess is as good as ours.
