Fleetwood Mac - Men Of The World/ The Early Years. 3-CD. (Sanctuary Records - SMETD239) Compilation examining the Mac's work between 1968 and 1970: Disc 1 concentrates on their early, oft-derivative (but none the worse for it) blues and rock'n'roll roots: Disc 2 looks at some of their more experimental studio work, in particular the "Then Play On" album sessions: Disc 3 presents Mac live. Several of these live sides are taken from the celebrated "Live In Boston" gigs, which perhaps caught Fleetwood Mac- to some, this lineup is still the 'real' one- and Peter Green, in particular, at their very optimum.
