Lambchop - Is A Woman. CD. (City Slang - 201902) The bands sixth album, first released in 2002. Continuing on from 2000's Nixon, the group once labelled as a country band are firmly in Soul territory here, though otably the arrangements are much more stripped back than on before. Stripped of the usual backing, Kurt Wagner's vocals are even more vunerable and lonesome than usual. The pace of the record is a little slow (think of a funeral) but with patience, the record subtly explodes after a few listens. A real change in direction for the fourteen piece.
