Meters - A Message From The Meters. Dble CD. (Atom Music - ATOM2017) Formed in 1967 by Art Neville as The Funky Meters, he was joined by brothers Aaron and Cyril. The name soon changed to The Meters and they were joined by George Porter Jnr on Bass,' Zigaboo' Joseph Modeliste on Guitar and Leo Nocentelli on Drums. he Meters sound was grounded in the laid back cajun, creole, jazz and r&b sound of their childhood, but they were not afraid to mix with the funk pioneers of Sly & The Family Stone as their version of 'Sing A Simple Song' shows. This is a mix of original recordings, big hits and rarities. Includes an eight page full color booklet with extensive liner notes
