(Jazzprint - JPVP135CD) Part two of a series of seminal recordings documenting the early years of possibly the most celebrated jazz trumpeter of them all, taking in his early work as sideman with Billy Eckstine, Charlie Parker, Benny Carter and others- but already inflicting his own masterful compositions such as 'Move' (three versions of which appear here) and 'Confirmation' on the bands in question. Those cats obviously knew genius when they heard it. . . These recordings have long been available, but never before together on the same CD. Remastered for additional clarity.
