Our web site is based on a 'Virtual Shopping Basket' system. Clicking on the 'Add To Basket' icons by products will add them to your virtual shopping basket. When you've selected all the products you want to buy, click on 'Checkout' to place your order electronically. You will be prompted throughout this process. |

Browsing By Genre :
Select the GENRE you're interested in from the list on the left, or click 'More Genres' to view a full list. Genre links take you to the home page for that genre.From here, click the A-Z buttons on the genre home page to display the products we have to offer in that section beginning with that letter. NOTE: We always list artists by the first name and not the second- ie you will find Jimi Hendrix under J and not H! You can also select 'List All' to display a simple list of products, grouped by each band. Here you can click on each product to view information for that product, or click on the band name for a complete list of products by that band, including full descriptions for each.
You can also search through a genre, by typing into the search box that appears underneath the A-Z links on each genre page.
Searching Our Catalogue :
Our search facility is very flexible, allowing you complete control over what sections of the catalogue you want to look through, what formats you want to display, etc. You can search for particular Artists, Titles, Labels and Formats by clicking the 'search' button in the top menu bar, or entering text into the box that appears on any of the specialist genre pages.
Searching From A Genre Page
Typing directly into the search box on a specialist genre page will search through the artist name, title and description fields through that genre. For more options, click 'Search Entire Catalogue', or select the search button from the top menu bar of the site.
Searching From The Main Search Page
Here you can search for the text accross multiple specific genres, through certain fields of the catalogue such as Artist Names, Product Descriptions or Record Labels only, and elect to display specific formats only. You can search through the record label field only, to display label listings, and you can also enter a number of days to track back, thus filtering the catalogue to only show stock that is new (or back in stock) since that day.
In the interests of keeping our search facility as flexible as possible, you do not actually have to enter any search text at all! This allows you to use the search to very specific ends. For example, you can use this to get a listing of all DVDs for a particular genre, or everything in a particular genre that's new in the last 10 days! We hope that you find this facility useful, and welcome any comments or suggestions that you'd like to make.
Purchasing Products :
To purchase a product, click the 'Add To Shopping Basket' button by any product in our catalogue. You will be prompted to fill in the quantity which you require, and confirm this. The product will then be transferred to your shopping basket.Products are listed in our catalogue under four categories : In Stock, Available For Order, On Order and Pre Order.
Viewing and Editing Your Shopping Basket :
Click "View Order" to view the contents of your shopping basket and items that you have placed on order. If you are logged on you will also automatically recieve quotes for postage and packing on this screen.To edit your shopping basket for items that are to be sent immediately, click the "Edit Order" button directly underneath this list. If you have ordered products to be sent on as they come in, they are listed below on this screen and should be edited separately by clicking "Edit Order" underneath this list.
Checking Out :
When you're ready to place your order, click "Checkout". Here you simply fill in your address and contact details if you've not ordered before, or enter your user name and password to call up your saved details immediately.Then, just select from the postage options (you can choose between regular, recorded or insured delivery, and will be quoted for each on this screen), and enter any special delivery instructions you may have. Finally select your method of payment.
You can pay either via credit card or by UK cheque, UK postal order or International Money Order. If you choose to pay by credit card, you have the option of using our secure internet connection, or forwarding your details by telephone, fax or post. If you pay on credit card over a secure connection, your card details will be taken immediately, and you can opt to have them stored on the server (in encrypted form) for next time.
Once you have confirmed your payment options, your order will be placed, and your shopping basket emptied for next time. You will automatically be sent a confirmation email from the web site, confirming your order and all prices.
You can check the status of your order at any time after it has been placed through the links under 'My FreakEmporium'.
